HELP!!! :D

Grrrr, I just tested in Halls of Advanced training. Rapid Shot indeed does not work with X-bows. Wonder why I didn't notice it before?

BTW: On the bioware website nwn.bioware.com, they have some character builds posted, including a complete guide to a halfling Rogue archer. She's simply breathtaking. It give complete level by level progression table, what to take and where to put skills. I'm playing her now. :-)

Do I need to be logged in to find it?  If so, I'm most likely screwed.  I created an account when I bought the game, but can not remember the user name / password.  I know you need a valid CD key to create the account.  I have moved twice since then, so even if they could email me the info, it would go to the wrong place.

Otherwise, I can't find any character guides there.  I looked last night.

Note: The following is just a copy & paste from the NWN website. The mod known as "Torias" created this character, I simply post it here for your veiwing. I can't take ANY credit ;-)

Rogue Archer

Overview
Fighter: 6
Rogue: 33
Shadow Dancer: 1

Race: Halfling
Alignment: Any

Robes

With +27d6 Sneak Attack damage and 5 ranged attacks per round, anything that is not immune to sneak attacks is in for a world of pain. An average sneak attack with a shortbow will do in excess of 100 points of damage.

Scenario 1: Hit and Run. The character can use her excellent stealth skills and the Hide in Plain Sight ability to sneak up within range of enemies, let loose with several devastating ranged sneak attacks, then fade away again into the shadows.

Scenario 2: Melee Companion. Alternately, the character can let their meat shield, errr, melee focused companion, distract the enemies, whilst safely standing back and shooting arrows through the enemies' eyeballs and kidneys.

If, by some chance, enemies do get within melee range, the character has ample ranks of Tumble. this allows her to make a strategic withdrawal to a safer location without attracting any attacks of opportunity.

While the Rogue Archer is awesomely powerful against those who can be sneak attacked, undead and constructs (particularly those with high damage reduction) could pose a significant challenge for this character. Luckily, she has many ranks in the powerful Use Magic Device skill, which lets her use magic scrolls with spells such as Crumble or Sunburst.

Thank the gods for that!

That's one of the most munchkin-ized, cheeziest builds I've ever seen.

*Grumbling, heads back to Mythos, where cheez is off the menu and no one is allowed to take just one level of shadowdancer for any reason*

Thank you, kind sir!  Looks good except the tumble part.  Still don't have the expansions.  I'll just substitute Lore instead.

It seems that you can create an account there without the CD key.  You MAY register your key with that account, so I'm all set up there as Ambar43.

No. She's an elf rogue archer. With no shadowdancer levels. And no fighter levels.

Rogue archers are awesome. But cheezing the game mechanics (1 lvl of SD, a few levels of fighter for weapon spec) is just... ewww. ;)

My halfling, Tiki, is a dual-wielding melee rogue.

Well, this explains a lot. From that page:

Quote from: "Some Cheezehead"
There is something alluring about Munchkinism. What is Munchkinism you ask? To be a proper Munchkin, you need to be focused on one overwhelming goal: attaining Infinite Cosmic Power. Forget namby-pamby roleplaying. Forget realism. Forget game-balance destroying exploitation of the rules. You want a character so powerful that, in the words of a famous barbarian, "you drive your enemies before you amongst the lamentations of their women". Darn tootin'.

We thought that a section of the Neverwinter Nights Community Site should be devoted to the very best, the very extreme, and the very Munchkinist of character builds that have been carefully crafted by the best to be the best at being the best in the best way. That's right baby. Some do the most damage with one hit, some are the best at firing arrows, and some are the best at resisting attacks. Whatever their particular focus, all would be pretty scary if encountered in a game.

True. And remember that I normally have a problem with even mutli-classing, let alone min/maxing. But, to each their own.

BTW, I DO remember who it was who first gave me the tip to take a Ranger level to get free dual-wielding

Me likely me Bard/Rogue Archer.  Which would be a Bard/Rogue/AA if the expansions existed for macs.

My wizard archer actually isn't that bad either, although he only gets 4 attacks WITH rapid shot, but he hardly needs to with his other better offensive capabilities.  He's the most well defended against melee attacks compared to.... well..... even the melee guys I have.
Currently playing: King of Fighters XIV, ME3 MP (PS3), Bloodborne, Life is Strange

For what it's worth, "Stealthy" is NOT an option.  Must be an expansion thing.

Playing with Darts now, though the only ones I've found to buy are +1, and kinda pricey.  Aribeth doesn't seem to sell them.  I guess I just need to visit a few more merchants.

The docks are clear and I'm level 6 now  :D

I asked in the rolecall thread, but I'll make it a little more obvious :D

I am having a problem though. I'm in the second level of the Academy (North East corner) and have come across a force field blocking a door. Can't figure out how to get around that. It appears from the doorway that there is at least one more level. Any help would be appreciated!
