You mean this one?

Quote
US, March 11, 2010 - BioWare has teased a new released date for what we can only assume is the next complete Dragon Age sequel. A pamphlet found inside all retail copies of Dragon Age: Origins -- Awakening, posted below, set the release for Feburary 1, 2011.

This matches up with Electronic Arts' fiscal 2011 lineup of titles, which said a new Dragon Age game is shipping in the company's 4th quarter beginning on January 1, 2011 and ending on March 31

Probably.

It's going to a be a trilogy just like Mass Effect.

Then he was an idiot for not taking up Morrigan's offer. :P

Anything not to have to put up with Oghren ever again.

Awakening sucks.

And I could tell that from the very first 2 seconds in the game.
As I mentioned earlier, my warden chose to sacrifice himself.

I import the save in Awakening, imagining that it will just load my choices and give me the Orlesian warden character since my charactr is dead.

Noooo, introduction scene, and 'lo and behold, here comes the freshest looking zombie you've ever seen.

COME ON, REALLY???

What a huuuuuuuuge letdown :(

So it means it supposedly imports my choices... but how can he import my choices since my choice was to have my warden die? I imagine it automatically defaults the the other warden death (in my case, Loghrain).

Meh :(

Off to a bad enough start that it cut my will to play that campaign for now. I will play it in the end, but probably not with this char, and not before a while.

Awakening sucks.

That's all I've heard/read everywhere. I am *so* glad I didn't fork out the $$ for it.

I've heard the opposite, everyone says its more of the same and that if you loved the original you'll love the expansion.

Your "everyone" and my "everyone" need to meet.

I've heard:
- Companion interaction sucks compared to the first.
- No romance option(s).
- Buggy as hell.
- Feels rushed out the door.
- No sense of connection at all to main campaign.
- Breaks mods.
- Doesn't work with DLC stuff.
- ...

True AFAIK.

Uh? That on the other hand I haven't heard.

I'll tell you when I have recovered from the disappointment of this first contact enough to play the game. What I heard is that it was mostly "more of the same", as in, you liked DA:O, chance is you'll like Awakening.

Now, since I know this is a huge part of the game for you, that's not true AFAIK. Most mods still work perfectly. A very few do not (like the no automatic levelling) but if I am not mistaken, the companions do not auto level anyways (not 100% sure, but I think I read that). But most items, bodies, spell modifications (shapeshifting) etc. mods work perfectly.

As for DLC, one of the very first mods released for the expansion was... restoring the DLC items to Awakening

Hm. I dunno. Across the several gaming forums I live on, all I've read is the word "Disappointing" over and over. :lookaround:

And the mod thing - well, several of those gaming forums are mod-devoted, and the issues have been many. *shrug*

I've heard mixed reviews. I've stayed away from the Awakening forums on the BioBoards because I don't want the story spoiled, but still some things filter across sections.

I'll still buy it, but when the price comes down to what an Xpac should be.

It's not by all means extensive, but for example, and to give you an idea of what works and what doesn't :

Strange,

Only bad things ive read were

- Feels rushed
- Not all the original DLC worked
- Story wasn't really tied in to the original

But most people stated that its more of the same and if you love DA: O then you'd love this, much like  M_G said :)

Heh, yeah... The Bioboards are full of amateur modders/mod-users. The real ones are on other forums. ;)

Let's see... from that list:

Working: 17/34
Sort of working: 7/34
Not working: 10/34

50% average. And that's just 34 mods out of the well-over-1000 so far.

And of the "working" list, most of those are generic (texture replacer types) which of course work. The not working list includes essential or otherwise "involved" mods - like helm removal, extra dog slot, advanced tactics, and so on.
