Is anyone here playing Sacred Underworld?
« on: June 25, 2006, 07:50:31 AM »
I've been playing Sacred Underworld again, and I was wondering if any of the gamers here still adventured in Ancaria?.

I play both hardcore and softcore. I usually play a Battlemage or a Wood Elf. I can be found in the private games room playing in a game named: Steellord. If you wish to join me in my game just pop into the game and tell me you are from this group and ask me for the password.

Heres to some great adventures in Ancaria.

Nope. I've quit playing completely. While the game has some interesting parts, in the end it can't hold a candle to D2 concerning character building, I mean. And I never thought it worth getting the Expansion - though I did d/l Plus and tried it for a while.

I've pretty much only played a BM as it's more or less the only real choice for a decent spellcaster (the spells from the WE and the Sera are mostly useless, I find). But in the end BMs are ridiculously overpowered. And not even Niobium (or whatever the fifth difficulty is called) was half the challenge that 1.10 Hell is for my sorcs.

Edit: cleared up a bit more what I meant with D2 being superior.

I played Sacred for a few weeks. Tried all the characters; had a bit of fun with the seraphim and wood elf. Although I found it to be quite superior to D2 in most ways, in the end it was still another 2D Isometric hackfest and I got bored pretty quick.

Might reinstall it for the kids, though. Hm...

Hey Luchaire,
Your avatar brings back fond memories of one of my favorite games of all time.

"Daggerfall"  :D

It was a great game in my opinion, even with the numerous bugs it had.

I wish Ascaron put out xbox 360 controller compatibility before they vanished....I would look to hook the pc version up to my 56" tv and rock some sacred 2 again.

Perhaps Ssssith has been dethroned as necromancer?
